REDONDO BEACH, California -- Several changes were made to the rules for the ToY 2001 contest.  These following changes were adopted at the Meeting of the Members held on January 20, 2001:

  • In order for a team to be eligible, it must compete in at least three events within the State of California which are either KCBS-sanctioned or scbbqa-approved events;

  • In order for an event to count for a team toward the Teams of the Year 2001 awards, the team’s chief cook must have been an scbbqa member on the day before an event;  and

  • In order for a team to get credit for an event which is held outside the State of California, the team must obtain and provide the entire contest scores (on disk or hard copy) within 30 days after the event to the Team of the Year 2001 Chairman.

All other rules remain substantially the same.
