Seven scbbqa teams invited to Royal;  others to compete in Open

KANSAS CITY, Missouri -- Seven scbbqa teams will be invited to compete in the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City on October 5 & 6, 2001.  Other California teams (and even those teams which are also competing in the Royal Invitational) will also compete in the American Royal Open contest.

The seven teams in the Royal Invitational (confirmations are shown in red) are:

scbbqa teams who intend to compete are requested to email their plans.  This will be updated to list the teams which intend to compete in the Royal Open:

Over the next three weeks - and before August 20 - each of the teams is requested to confirm its availability to compete in the Royal Invitational.
