New and renewing members may now pay
online with PayPal
April 25, 2001
The
Association has now opened an account with PayPal so that new and
renewing members can pay their dues online. scbbqa uses PayPal so that dues can be
paid online by members in a fast, easy and secure way. Those who sign up
for PayPal will also be able to make and receive payments online from
other PayPal members.
Background
PayPal is quickly becoming the most commonly used
method to pay and to receive payments on the Internet. It is the safest way to
send and receive money on the Internet and is the most popular method at major
sites like eBay.
Those with a PayPal account can send money to anyone who has
an email address (even if they are not already PayPal members), and those with
an account can receive money from anyone or any group. This makes
it an ideal solution for smaller organizations, like scbbqa,
since it does not have to open a special merchant account and process
credit and debit card payments. It is also ideal for those who buy
or sell through online auctions, since payment is guaranteed.
PayPal now has seven million customers, and it's
growing. For more information, visit the PayPal website here.
Receive $5.00 for signing up
Everyone who opens a new PayPal account
will receive $5.00 just for
signing up. This $5.00 credit can be used for any purpose or cashed.
The Association will receive $5.00 too
There is no need to use PayPal
immediately to make a payment. So cbbqa asks all its
members to sign up now for PayPal, even if dues are not yet due. It is fast, simple and secure -- please click
