The Association

The California Barbecue Association is a non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable, California corporation.  

Real barbecue traces its roots to the cooking techniques of Native Americans who lived in the Southeast and Caribbean before the arrival of Columbus. 

The Association hosts many barbecue events and sanctions barbecue contests throughout California and the western states. 

The mission of the Association, in summary, is to assist needy children through the promotion of an understanding and appreciation of real barbecue.
